Nouns

In Mundeze, all words have an invariable root, the radical, from which one can form substantive, verb, adjective and adverb.

Example with “pel- (to speak, to say)

pele: speech, statement
peli: to speak, to say
pela: oral, verbal, speaking
pelo: orally, verbally

The substantive is always formed by adding an ending e to the radical. Nouns almost end therefore by -e *.

Examples

mate (woman)
bate (man)
doste (friend)
eve (house)
myawe (cat)

topPlural of nouns

To put a noun in the plural form, one can add a y at the end of the word (after e), but it is not mandatory.

Examples

doste (friend)
dostey (friends)
bi dostey (two friends)
bi doste (two friends)
oliver ni amelia si mea doste (Oliver and Amelia are my friends)

topGender

Mundeze doesn’t distinguish between masculine and feminine nouns. Gender is indicated by the prefix ba- (masculine) and ma- (feminine) *

Examples

te = human ane = person
bate = man baane = male bae = the masculine
mate = woman maane = female mae = the feminine

* There is also a prefix za for non-binary gender.
